It looks like we could all be spending a lot more time in the house with the kids. “Social Distancing” will be a hard concept for our teens who long for social connection above all. School cancellations, if they haven’t already happened in your area, seem inevitable. I have been thinking about ways to hold a family meeting to reach a place of understanding and a way of peacefully cohabitating 24/7 for an extended period.
I believe we have a big opportunity here to help our kids build some resiliency muscles. I also believe we have an opportunity to teach our kids about past wars, pandemics, etc. and the things that our grandparents might have endured to give them some perspective. Here are some talking points I came up with. Feel free to use and share if helpful.
